EXPLOITING LUNAR CONDITIONS

The main construction consists of a hollow boomerang-shaped support beam which pivots underground, using the weight of moon rock above to maintain stability. All necessary shafts as well as the elevators are located inside the beam. Horizontal ribs branche off from the main 'backbone' and are being used for fixing the outer hull and for the circulation area. Because of the lack of atmosphere, there is no need for a cross-branching structure. The necessary rigidity of the building is obtained by the hull construction.
